WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A ROOFING COMPANY?
Choosing a roofing, gutter or construction company to do work on your home can be incredibly stressful. You do not want to pick just any company; you will need to do some research for any company you are interested in. Here are some tips to use when you are doing said reach:
- Are they Locally owned and operated?
- Ask for a copy of their General Liability and Workers Comp.
- Check the Colorado Roofing Association to see if they are a member
- Check the Better Business Bureau for their rating.
- What kind of workmanship warranty do they offer? Is it 1 year, 5 year or 10 years and what is in that warranty?
- Ask for references.
HOW DO I KNOW IF ARTISAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IS THE BEST CHOSE FOR ME?
Artisan offers a 10-year workmanship warranty for a full roof replacement and a year for all repairs. There are very few construction companies that will do a 10 year warranty, most of them are 1 year or a 5 year warranty. Artisan has 30+ years of roofing construction experience. This is thru the owner, project managers, office staff and crews. We will stay until the work is competed to your satisfaction.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A REPAIR OR A REPLACEMENT?
This is a tricky question; it is always best to have an expert look at your roof. We do not recommend you climb up on your roof, let Artisan do that for you. There are so many variables to consider when looking at your roof and home for hail damage. We will examine your home and give you a free estimate if you should need a repair or a full replacement.
HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY FOR MY PROJECT?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express (NOTE: with all credit card payments there is a 3.4% fee) and certified checks. With most insurance claims reimbursement payments are done in 2 or 3 parts. Part 1 is your deductible paid by you. Part 2 is the ACV, your first check from your insurance company. Lastly, part 3 is the final check sent to you from the insurance company. We expect the first payment on the first day of production. This will be your deductible and the first check from your insurance company. Once the work has been completed, we will send your invoice and a copy of your permit to the claims department on your behalf. Final payment is expected once all funds have been received. It is considered acceptable to hold 10% of the final amount due until your home passes final inspection. Payment for all repairs are due upon receiving the invoice.
WHAT IS ICE AND WATER AND WHY DOES ARTISAN INSTALL IT ON EVERY ROOF?
Ice and water shield is a type of water barrier that is adhesive on one side and it prevents ice damning. Ice damning in Colorado is a concern due to our unpredictable weather. This is used on every house, eaves and valleys, at no additional cost to you. One of the many reasons we can offer our 10-Year warranty because we use ice and water shield on every roof.
WHY SHOULD I CHOSE MALARKEY SHINGLES?
We offer other shingle manufacturers, but we just prefer the quality and durability of Malarkey. We prefer to use the impact-resistant Vista-AR Shingle to start at no additional cost to you. This shingle is made of asphalt, but the SBS system (Malarkey’s Shingle system is SBS) has little pieces of a special type of rubber so when hail hits it, it doesn’t fracture like other common shingles, it repels the hail and this system drastically decreases the chance you will need a new roof in the near future.
